With 2 drivers and two machines my two guys can easily average over 1 mile per hour while painting full curb and stenciling "FIRELANE NO PARKING" every 25 feet.

Too late to help you for this job.  Consider using pavement graphics, not just the type I deal with but other manufacturers as well such as 3M.  It may cost more but it looks perfect and takes a fraction of the time of stenciling.  PM if you want to know more and a list of manufactureres or retailers.

Suggestions/help on stenciling parking curbs

Looking for any advice on stenciling those parking curbs (or just regular curb) that have the painted background with the numbers.  I have tried taping them all off, which works well, but uses lots of tape and is time consuming.  I have tried tilting the gun and spraying them with the machine, but they don't come out as nice, and pavement is rarely perfectly flat to get them all uniform.  I have not tried cutting out spray guards, but there's at least 4 or 5 different types of parking curbs, and they will get sloppy pretty quick.  Anyone have any words of wisdom to make this task less miserable?  I have about 200-250 of the stupid things to do on Friday.
